Pterygium Surgery

Wakefield Eye Care has experienced ophthalmologists who provide pterygium surgery to remove growths from the surface of the eye. Dr Economos and Dr Pietris were two of the first surgeons in South Australia to use tissue glue to secure conjunctival autografts as an alternative to suturing (stitches). This provides greater postoperative comfort for patients without compromising surgical results.

What differentiates us?

We provide comprehensive care, keeping you with your surgeon at all times and only referring you back to an optometrist once your postoperative care has fully concluded.

Beginning from initial consultation directly with the surgeon, to operation within a major modern tertiary hospital, to postoperative care directly with the surgeon, we ensure you are provided specialist care at every step.
